Saskia's new "dancing skirt". I got this gorgeous flamenco skirt pattern off Milly, one of my EB MG buddies. It is just too easy to make and oh so girlie.

Madame has already put in her order for a pink one and a green one :)

Wraps

I made 2 of these wraps, one for me and one for SIL. It is just a big triangle with rolled edges. They look fab on.

Fabric finds

ohhhh I love these fabrics. They all just caught my eye so were "must haves"

This is a fine type knit which will soon become a couple of wraps.

A lacey type fabric, not sure yet but perhaps as an overskirt for me.

It is hard to tell from the pic but this is quite sheer. Saskia picked this one, no surprises there. Am thinking about a dress or skirt for her.

A girlie dress

At first I didn't like this dress pattern, it came with a few patterns I bought off Trade Me. Well it has turned out beautifully :) Saskia wore it today to Aunty Sues birthday party.

My first zip

Well thanks to the gorgeous EB sewing girls, I have finally done a zip. Yay :)

I am giving myself 5-6 out of 10 for this effort but mainly because of the waistband on the skirt, am not happy with it at all.

I LOVE this skirt though. It is made of an embroidered cotton overskirt and cotton underskirt which sit about 2cm below the overskirt.

The hems are rolled and I made a scrunchie type feature with the underskirt fabric. The feature also has a rolled hem and is gathered then hand sewn on.

Frilly skirt woohoo

Well I am just so pleased with myself :) I made this frilly skirt from the Ottobre mag and just love it. I have stuffed up the waistband but don't really mind as the whole thing was a huge learning curve for me. This is the first time I have used the rolled hem feature on the overlocker and absolutely love it. The gathering is proving to be quite a challenge but it's all good fun learning.

It looks gorgeous on!

There is another cut out and is calling me, must fly :)

I am soooooo happy with these. they are made with my fave Japanese cotton fabric, same as the top I made not long ago. Saskia loves them which is a nice change.

The pattern is so fab that I have also made the same pair in hot pink. All we need now is some summer weather :)
